Letter to my Younger Self

Dear Young Nee,

I write this letter to you on my bed after putting both the kids to sleep, piling up all the clothes to be washed in the laundry bag, clearing the floors of the toys, also the tiniest blocks which came under my feet thrice in the last hour, saying bye to the dishes to-be washed staring at me in the kitchen sink. No, I am not cribbing about it. Life has become lovely with my two boys and a doting husband.

Please take what's useful from this letter and leave what's not. I know you are quite stubborn and won't heed to most of my advices. But I am still trying my luck. To make it easier and short for you, I am writing this letter in points.

πŸ’Œ I know you are quite confused after high school, as to which path/career choice to make. But whatever you choose you shall thrive in it only if you be head-strong for it. Your heart is into Media, so do take it up.
Going out of the norms and regular is what you are made up of.

πŸ’Œ Unhear all the shit advices you getting for your course to-be chosen. Just go for your heart says. In the end, you will be happy and thriving only in the path your heart lies. Who knew that you would work in media stream despite girls in your family can't even think of working.

πŸ’ŒRespect your sleep. Please give importance to your sleep. You do not know how bad dark circles look. No amount of under-eye creams will ever cure them and NO, they do not look cool. When you will have kids, you will crave for sleep like never before. So sleep, as much as your body wants.

πŸ’Œ Help Mom in chores and listen to her when she says "Sasural jaake aansu nikalenge". Trust me, nikalenge. Learn multi-tasking from her as no amount of time would be enough to manage your life when you have 2 kids, a big family and passion to fulfill.

πŸ’Œ Learn cooking especially making roti. I find it tougher than anything in this world. Also, you will need this skill to make your fussy eaters to have some food.

πŸ’Œ Read, read and read. Surround yourself with people who love books. Gift yourself books. The benefits are ever lasting. When you will find out about your hidden passion in writing, your reading will help you get through words.

πŸ’Œ Do not let people take up space in your head. What people think of you is none of your business. Practice avoiding and knowing what people talk about you. Remember you have to always look forward and not what's behind you.

πŸ’Œ Never give up learning. Even when you feel you are too old for this. Learn a sport, its destressing or write, that might be therapeutic. Whatever it might be, but just learn if you want to.

πŸ’Œ Get comfortable in your skin and flaunt it. When I can flaunt my sagging tummy so well, you can flaunt your chubby cheeks too.

πŸ’Œ Words matter. With all relationships. Exchange 'we' vs 'me' as much as possible.

πŸ’Œ Take risks. Try not to worry much. Leave some space in your head for other beautiful things. Everything works out and it works out well. You are a warrior and not worrier.

πŸ’Œ Keep in touch with your friends. You will make many in future. But the ones you keep in touch always will be the true ones.

πŸ’Œ Give time to your family. Once married, you will miss them the most.

πŸ’Œ Be kind and always smile. It's a mood changer. They are ultimate positive boomerangs.

I might aound harsh but you know I love you. ALWAYS BE HAPPY AND LOVE YOURSELF. Protect your happiness and peace of mind.

Love,
Your 30years old Nee
